Freshman attacker leads UConn to first victory over a ranked opponent since 2007

“Freshman attacker, Carly Palmucci, clinches her first WomensLax.com Rookie of the Week honor, after leading the Huskies to a 13-8 victory over the 15th-ranked Boston College Eagles. The victory required a full team effort on both ends of the field, and Palmucci guided the Huskies with 5 points (4g, 1a) and a draw control in the program’s first win over a ranked team since defeating No. 18 Stanford in March of 2007. Palmucci, who hails from Herndon, VA, joined the Huskies after an impressive high school career where she notched 367 points and won the 2012 Virginia State Championship; twice named a US Lacrosse All-American, and honored as the 2012 District Offensive Player of the Year. Palmucci and the Huskies (3-0) will look to maintain their perfect record, when they host New Hampshire on Wednesday at 3:30 PM, in search of their third consecutive home opening victory.”
