Performance Intern
Paid Positions Available in Fairfax, Loudoun Counties (VA), Washington, Frederick, Montgomery, Howard Counties (MD), Berkeley, Jefferson Counties (WV)
Our company specializes in improving sports performance for athletes of any age, sport, or skill level.
An internship at True Athlete Performance will present you with the opportunity to experience hands-on coaching with as many as 150 athletes per day. Each intern will have the chance to coach youth, high school and collegiate athletes, become more familiar with the intricacies of program design, and observe and assist a variety of athletes under the supervision of our qualified staff of performance coaches.
As a TrueAP intern, you would have the opportunity to compliment your hands-on learning experience with participation in our our weekly Staff In-Service, which focuses on continuing education in a classroom-style learning environment. Internship participants will develop coaching, testing and program-design skill sets to compliment career aspirations within the fitness industry.
Additionally, all interns are provided with Nike apparel, and will begin their internship experience with an all-staff seminar/mentorship hosted at our northern Virginia facility.
Expectations of all Applicants
- Be competent teaching dynamic warm-up & flexibility drills
- Demonstrate a knowledge of training techniques
- Be eager to learn and accepting of constructive criticism
- Must be comfortable interacting with coaches, clients, parents, etc.
- Present yourself in a manner that will reinforce your status as a role model for impressionable young athletes
Internship Schedule
True Athlete Performance internships are scheduled according to traditional academic semesters and summer vacation.
- First week of January (ends in March)
- Last week of May (ends in August)
- Second week of September (ends in December)

Social Media & Content Creation Intern
True Athlete Performance specializes in improving sports performance for athletes of any age, sport, or skill level. With True Athlete Performance, athletes can improve their maximum potential through hard work, dedication, and a focus on proper form and technique.
We’re looking for a Social Media & Content Intern who will be responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations and management of content of True Athlete Performance’s social accounts. This position will be responsible for planning, creating, scheduling, and posting content for various social media projects.
To be successful as a Social Media & Content Intern at True Athlete Performance, you must have excellent knowledge of various social media platforms and in-depth knowledge of the sports world. You will combine creative campaign ideas with analytical skills to craft engaging content and successful posts.
This is a paid position and may qualify for curriculum credits if applicable.
An internship at True Athlete Performance will present you with the opportunity to acquire and further develop your communication skills, time management, attention to detail, adaptability, and customer service skills, all while working for a supportive and impactful company.

Internship Schedule:
- The Social Media & Content Internship will run from June 1 – August 15 and will require a minimum of 10 hours worked per week.

Responsibilities:
- Create engaging content for all major social media platforms to increase brand awareness
- Brainstorm/offer ideas for social media projects/opportunities
- Schedule content to be published on social media at ideal times
- Assist with monitoring the social media channels and activities
- Assist with managing the social media content calendar
- Assist with curating social media content for events, stand-alone campaigns, and other projects
- Gather content via video and photo
- Create engaging and attention grabbing graphics
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Photography/Videography Intern
Paid Positions Available in Fairfax, Loudoun Counties (VA), Washington, Frederick, Montgomery, Howard Counties (MD), Berkeley, Jefferson Counties (WV)
Compensation: Based on a candidate’s experience, skills, education and workload.
Hours/Schedule:
4-8 hours/week of being onsite/location and shooting. Will work together on a flexible schedule that allows the intern to manage hours of being onsite/location and hours needed form importing, editing, exporting, etc along with outside commitments.
As a Photography/Videography Intern, you will assist with all photo and video creative needs of True Athlete Performance (TrueAP) through planning, executing, and collaborating with the Rob Rose & our Director of Marketing (Josh Daniels) and potentially our outsourced digital marketing firm (Threshold Media).
Responsibilities:
- Work within a team to promote programs, services, and special events via photos/video
- Capture engaging photos/video to support the creative process of marketing content
- Think creatively and develop a robust photo/video library
- Assist with curating social media content for events, stand-alone campaigns, and other projects
- Other duties as assigned
Acquired Skills:
As a result of working as the Photographer/Videographer Intern, the student will have the opportunity to acquire and further develop their photography/videography skills, communication, time management, attention to detail, adaptability, and customer service skills.
