PORTIA STRASBURG

Portia Strasburg, originally from Hagerstown, Maryland, and raised in Frederick, is a dedicated coach with a deep-rooted passion for volleyball and sports training.

Portia attended Walkersville High School and went on to study at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Elizabeth City State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Her collegiate volleyball career was marked by significant achievements, including multiple accolades such as Defensive Player of the Year and Coach’s Award, as well as a first-place finish in the conference during her standout 2022 season.

After graduating in the summer of 2024, Portia joined the TrueAP team, motivated by a desire to inspire and mentor the next generation of athletes. Her transition from a competitive athlete to a coach is driven by her commitment to helping young athletes unlock their full potential.

As a former collegiate athlete, Portia understands the dedication required to excel at the highest levels. Her experience with top strength and conditioning coaches has equipped her with valuable insights into proper form and technique. This expertise, combined with her educational background, positions her as a well-rounded coach with a focus on volleyball-specific training.

In addition to her current pursuit of a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, Portia is passionate about the rehabilitative aspects of sports training. She plans to further her education by pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy, aiming to enhance her ability to support athletes through both performance and recovery.

Portia’s enthusiasm for coaching, coupled with her experience and educational pursuits, makes her a dynamic asset to the TrueAP team.
