ROB ROSE, NSCA-CSCS

Rob Rose is a pioneer in youth athlete training, having created the Washington DC area’s first comprehensive athlete performance training program in 1995. In 2009, he established True AP, specializing in teaching athletes how to move efficiently with power and precision.

In his role at True AP, Rob oversees daily operations, marketing, and management, in addition to leading staff development training and managing strategic partnerships, national sponsorships and overall growth strategies. He also developed the Coaches Education Program (CEP) to meet a growing need for youth sports leagues to effectively manage and train athletes.

Rob has been involved in athletics since a young age, playing basketball at Park View High School in Sterling, Virginia for all four years and running track for two. While obtaining his BS Degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education at George Mason University, he met trainer Geoff Eng, who introduced him to the world of athlete performance training. Rob quickly fell in love with the idea of combining his education and background in sports. He and Geoff eventually got into business together, starting a company focusing on Speed Agility and Quickness (SAQ). When Geoff moved to Texas to pursue another career, Rob took over the company which is now known as True AP. He also developed True Youth Sports (TYS) to meet a growing need for youth sports leagues to effectively manage and train athletes.

Rob maintains a long list of accreditations, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA – CSCS), Certified Conditioning Specialist – National Strength Professionals Association (NSPA – CCS), Functional Movement Specialist (FMS), and EXOS Performance Specialist. He is also a highly sought-after consultant and lecturer for leading sports and athletic organizations, including National Strength and Coaching Association (NSCA), National Strength Professionals Association (NSPA), Life Fitness Academy and Club Industry.

What excites Rob most in his role is seeing young athletes who go through the True AP program improve and challenge themselves. He loves coming up with new and improved program designs to offer our athletes so that they are continually pushed to grow in their skills. He values the relationships that have been developed through True AP and considers many of the coaches, parents, and athletes friends, not just clients or staff.

Rob is a father of two grown children, Shannon and Evan. He has two dogs with very unique personalities, Rigby and Raylan, who he has raised since they were puppies. In his spare time, he enjoys basketball, tennis, volleyball, pickleball, camping, playing with his dogs, and “destroying his staff at SpikeBall on the regular.” His main goal continues to be building the True AP brand and bringing the highest-caliber athletic training to the DC-metro area.
